CULTURAL USES OF GEMSTONES
Stones are as individual and unique as we are, and a great deal of what anyone perceives in a stone — beyond its geologic origins and specific mineralogical properties — is intuitive rather than definitive, and specific to the stone itself. Each stone has a unique vibration and can be used for unlimited uses! I use gemstones to calm and relieve stress or health ailments.
Just remember to cleanse your gemstone to clear any energy it may have absorbed.
In history gemstones have been used for their healing properties for thousands of years by many different cultures.
Roman soldiers used healing stones as tailsmans, amulets and adornments to enhance health and for protection during battle.
Egyptians buried their dead with quartz and other crystals to guide them to the afterlife safely. Rubies, Lapis Lazuli and other gemstones were worn by Kings and Queens from head to toe for multiple purposes like enlightenment and third eye awakening.
Green Jade has been used by the Chinese for centuries to attract prosperity and good luck. In ancient Chinese culture, Chinese medicinal practices often incorporated the use of healing gemstones. Green Jade has also been valued for centuries, especially in China, as a lucky charm and attracter of prosperity.
In ancient Greece, crushed Hematite was rubbed all over soldiers’ bodies before - they went into battle, as it was believed to make them invincible.
First Nations cultures have used stones in ceremony and day to day for centuries to present day, combining other medicines to strengthen intention
Stones often come to when the vibration is the same rate as itself and resonates with energy frequency. Stones often enter and disappear in ones physical area. Do not attach too much to your stones, often your vibration has changed and you no longer need that gemstone in your presence. It can be quite stressing to loose your favorite stone, but trust there is a reason for the separation.
HEALING CHAKRAS WITH CRYSTALS
Chakras connect your spiritual bodies to your physical one. They regulate the flow of energy throughout the electrical network (meridians) that runs through the physical body. The body’s electrical system resembles the wiring in a house. It allows electrical current to be sent to every part, and is ready for use when needed.
Gemstones can be used to balance a chakra that is out of alignment and heal ailments. Each chakra has a specific color and sound vibration. Although most stones of a specific color will be the stone for healing a particular chakra, some stones may be used to heal more than one chakra. There is a wide range of healing attributes that pertain to various stones and the things that they are known to remedy.
There are seven major chakra centers:
