Gratitude

Whenever I find the mind drifting towards negative thoughts I try and catch them as soon as I notice and combat them with a bit of gratitude for all the things I can see directly around me for a few minutes. I bring the vibrstional frequency up a notch by tuning into my emotional scale. Esther Hicks is the master teacher when it comes to tuning into your own frequency and how to create a stream of well being that will ultimately change your life! i love mooji, mooji, mooji!

If you haven't heard of him, now you have! If you enjoy meditating or exploring your inner self check this man out! He is the most gentle soul. His voice is soothing and he keeps a playful humour in his satsangs.  I love to use his guided meditations when I find it hard to quiet the mind.  It helps you to just sit in the moment without any trouble while listening to his soft words.  I also find that listening when going to sleep is very relaxing and helps sooth me into a deep slumber. I find that the more often I quiet my mind for any amount of time helps to balance my moods and anxieties.  Staying present. Staying present happens naturally all the time.  I love playing or listening to music to stay in the moment, lost in the moment.  Practicing yoga, walking in nature, making jewellery, concsious eating, anything you want really can be your tool to practicing presence.  Give it a try, I dare ya! Notice the presence of the awareness that is witness to all things perceived... good day ;)

let go of who you think you should be

It may have something to do with turning thirty this year, but I finally feel comfortable in my own skin.  I had some sort of expectation for my thrity year old self that I recently shed as it did not serve me anymore.  Along this journey towards the big three-o I was blessed to have been given a book by Brene Brown called The Gifts of Imperfection.  As all books that come into my possession, it got placed on the shelf waiting for the perfect "right" moment.  The insightful book gave me the courage and realizations that I needed to let go of who I thought I was supposed to be!   Using intuition as much as possible when making decisions and following my heart were the most useful in letting go of who I thought I was supposed to be. Knowing that the creative path I had been following was my truth, I was so excited to see the book as a sign post reminding me that I was headed in the right direction! “I now see how owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.”Brene Brown  This wonderful book really helped with embracing who I am authentically and letting go of who I had thought I needed to be.  Having had repetative thoughts of "when I get there, I will finally be worthy.." When "getting" there never happened, I was deeply unhappy with myself thus far. As I began loving myself, loving where I was at; when I finally let go of all these diminishing thoughts, I let go of all the what I should be's and found peace in my heart.

balancing your chakras

Ever wonder why you have a persistent health ailment or experience emotional turmoil?  When your chakra energies are out of whack it often affects the mind, body and spirit. Being aware of these energies can help save a lot of time in diagnosing the causes of these unknown ailments. A few years ago, back before I knew anything about chakras and their direct affects on my well being, I began experiencing unwanted physical health symptoms.  I noticed that I continually lost my voice for no apparent reason and then began to suffer from sore throats and ear infections with no evidence as to why.  When I proceeded to lose my voice for over a month without a cold or a cough I started asking myself why.  As it so happened I had purchased a book on chakras a few years prior but had never actaully read a word of it.  This book literally fell off the shelf during the period of no voice and I began to read it.  This book is one I absolutely recommend to anyone who is interested in healing physical and non physicall ailments in a natural and spiritually inspired way.  Carolyn Myss: Anatomy of the Spirit: The Seven Stages of Power and Healing. Find yourself a copy on Amazon!  This book changed my life for the better! I learned all about how unbalanced chakras can have extreme affects on indiviualds that are not aware of themselves spiritually and how to change that.  I began my journey by examining the throat chakra and the reasons related to why I was constantly losing my voice.

To give you a quick overview, the Throat Chakra is located in the center of the throat near the adam's apple. This Chakra is linked to our creativity and ability to communicate.  I quickly realized that I had not been expressing myself creatively through music and I also had been supressing feelings of discontenment in my career choices.  After the realization that I hadn't been making time for playing music I went out and purchased myself a full size keyboard and upgraded my twenty year old guitar.  I immediately felt the relief.  Expressing myself creatively was the hammer on the nail! I got instant results.  In combination I also used aromatherapy, sound vibration and gemstones to help balance the throat chakra which actually led me directly to crafting jewellery! (Solving the discontentment in career choices)

Now whenever I have a persistant ache or physical discomfort that lasts more than a few days, I ask myself which chakra it pertains to and inquire within as to why this chakra may be out of balance.

There are so many amazing websites that offer extensive information on chakras and what can be done to maintain balance.  If you have or are experiencing any discomfort, emotional or physical I highly recommend taking a moment and asking yourself what are the underlying issues... go from there and I bet you will experience great relief! Try it! What do you have to lose?!!
